Ian is a graduate from the Universal College of Healing Arts, and is excited to be joining Santosha as a new massage therapist. He began his journey in to massage therapy as a way to balance out his own life and his martial arts practice. Inspired by his Aikido Sensei who once told him, "If you're going to learn the martial arts, you should also learn the healing arts". He still polishes both sides of the coin; nurturing his newly flourishing massage business, and feeding his competitive side through Jeet Kune Do and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Because of his martial arts training, and knowing the importance of keeping an active lifestyle, Ian really likes to focus on the athletic/clinical side of massage therapy, and hopes to develop his practice accordingly with sports massage and pre/post event treatments. Along with a healthy body however, you need to keep a healthy mind. Ian accommodates this too, through relaxing Swedish massage, and was also trained in hydrotherapy techniques and hot stone massage. Ian is also available outside of the studio for house calls and executive chair massage at public and private events.
As a new therapist, he looks forward to his first steps in developing his business, and to continue learning new modalities and techniques to use to expand his practice. Don't hesitate to book an appointment and see if Ian is the right therapist for you!
